Field Trials
Field trials were developed to test the working ability of gundogs in competitive conditions. Trials resemble, as closely as possible, a day's shooting in the field and dogs are expected to work with all manner of game, from partridges and pheasants, to rabbits and hares.
The Kennel Club Field Trial Regulations, known as the J Regs, are vital reading. No competitor should enter a field trial unless they are fully conversant with the current Kennel Club Field Trial J Regulations relevant to Breeds that Hunt Point and Retrieve.
