Field Trials

Field trials were developed to test the working ability of gundogs in competitive conditions. Trials resemble, as closely as possible, a day's shooting in the field and dogs are expected to work with all manner of game, from partridges and pheasants, to rabbits and hares.

The Kennel Club Field Trial Regulations, known as the J Regs, are vital reading. No competitor should enter a field trial unless they are fully conversant with the current Kennel Club Field Trial J Regulations relevant to Breeds that Hunt Point and Retrieve. Find the J regulations here.  Further information about field trials can be found on the Kennel Club website.

Field Trial Competitors are able to view the latest list of dates and key information for the field trial season on this page.

Field Trial Secretaries are able to list their field trials on this website by using the form found on this page.
